Description

This easy-to-install and reliable ignition kit upgrades your Yamaha XS500 Twin plus some extra bits.

It replaces the stock points ignition with a maintenance-free electronic ignition that delivers consistent, high-output sparks for smooth performance.

The direct replacement design allows for a straightforward installation using your stock coils—simply remove the old points system and install this kit.

Remove the ignition cover
Make LF Mark
Remove OEM Rotor
Remove OEM Rotor and Plate- points and Condenser
Install new Rotor
Institute New Plate Assembly
Ensure electronic ignition of orange wire (letter T, Tytronic) points to black magnet
Rotate Rotor 180 degrees if not
Tighten Plate
Connect Orange and Grey Wire
Connect Red wire to Brown Wire (12v switched)
Do not connect Red wire to Coils
Make sure all wires are correct before starting
Start Bike
All ignitions tested before shipping

Must Have 3 OHM Coils

Built-in current protection circuit. Only 3 wires, built-in Led Timing light, no other parts, easy to install. Computer program controls advance angle and timing.

Tytronic Built:

This electronic ignition is designed and produced by Tytronic,duty cycle is designed at 50%. In every ignition when ignition first senses the signal,ignition will turn on automatically then supply power to the ignition coil. When it senses the second signal  this will trigger coil to ignite.This is the complete ignition process. The duty cycle of the original bike is about 50%,and some ignitions you can buy in the market are about 95%. Too big or too small of a value the ignition system energy you will experience insufficient spark and poor performance.
