Yamaha XV Virago | TM42 Pumper Single | Mikuni Flatslide Carburetor Kit

     Achieving a customized appearance while enhancing speed has never been more straightforward; bid farewell to difficulties in starting, hesitations, and flat spots. The Mikuni TM42 pumper type carburetor, similar to the VM roundslide or TM40 pumper alternatives, addresses all the issues associated with outdated stock carburetors and provides an aesthetically pleasing upgrade, delivering significant performance enhancements when installed on larger XV Virago engines exceeding 750cc.

     The kit comprises a pre-jetted TM42 Mikuni Carburetor equipped with a side pull knob choke, along with a Mikunioz-designed cast two into one manifold that features an enlarged mid manifold plenum area to optimize the fuel mixture distribution between the cylinders. To facilitate a wider manifold with improved grip while effectively isolating the cylinder head heat from the fuel delivery system, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) carb rubber mounting flanges are substituted with two shorter, heavy-duty Mikuni flanges specifically designed for the Harley market. Additionally, a third heavy-duty rubber flange is included for the connection between the manifold and carburetor. A specially designed, USA-made 2 1/2″ wide Pancake Filter, which is 1/2″ wider than standard options, is provided to meet the increased 17CFM demand of the TM42. The hardware package includes all necessary bolts and washers, as well as a side pull throttle and a push/pull cable combination, with the option of a lower profile left or standard right-hand carb side connection.
