Description

The Mikuni TM42 Flatslide Pumper carburetor conversion kit is specifically designed for the 1990 to 1995 XT600E models, featuring outward-facing rubber boots for a unique airbox connection on both sides instead of a direct rear fit. To ensure compatibility, please confirm that the frame and airbox shown in the picture library match your setup.

This kit is offered in two options: the high-performance TM42 Pumper and the more budget-friendly TM38, which still surpasses the original carburetor set in performance. Please note that the TM40 Pumper isn't compatible with this frame due to space constraints.

The TM42 Pumper is a remarkable upgrade for any 600cc and larger big thumper machine. Like the TM38, these Mikuni carburetors can connect to your stock airbox using the supplied forked airbox adapter. There are certain customer modifications required for proper fitment, which are detailed below and illustrated in the attached PDF.

**Required Modifications for Fitment**:
- Remove a section measuring 45mm wide by 10mm high from the cross plate located above and behind your carbs for additional overhead clearance.
- The cutout in the alloy motor manifold for Belgarda motor fin clearance may not be sufficient, so you will need to decide between removing more material from the manifold or from the motor fin, as shown in the PDF.
- Our Mikunioz YouTube channel features a video guiding you through the straightforward process of fitting the alloy manifold.
- Shortening your airbox rubber boots for attachment to our manifold will be necessary.
- The coil interferes with the 42mm carb (note that this does not apply to the TM38) and will require you to fabricate a forward mounting bracket for relocation. All the pertinent details and plate dimensions can be found in the PDF.
- Please note that a fuel line is not included, as you will need to connect to an 8mm fitting on the carb.

Despite the initial effort involved in fitting a superior carburetor not originally made for your bike, the noticeable improvement in rideability and performance will make it all worthwhile.

The kit includes a Mikuni TM42-6 carb, a cast two-into-one manifold with mounting hardware, a heavy-duty rubber engine mounting flange for heat isolation, a forked airbox adapter with a carb end hose clamp (you'll need to shorten your OEM rubber parts for connection), a 1/4-turn quick-action throttle, and a nylon-lined push/pull cable set. A 310mm long choke cable with a universal mounting bracket is also included, along with spare jets for fine-tuning.

Finally, remember that factors like climate, altitude, and fuel density from different octane ratings can impact your tuning. We've provided a selection of jets to help you adjust to varying conditions worldwide.

You’ll be thrilled with the exceptional throttle response, acceleration, and overall performance right from the start!
