Description
Going faster has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, irregular idle, hesitations, and flat spots. The Dual Mikuni VM32 carburetor kits are easily fitted to your Triumph T140E and the improvement is instant.
The kits include two Mikuni carbs, a two into one throttle cable with splitter box, a pair of offset parallel mounting sleeves and the most commonly suited jets for Australian fuel and conditions have been fitted as well as spares for fine tuning.
The later 80’s Motorcycles do also run a different cam than the 70’s models where spare pilot jets are provided to correct a rich idle condition if experienced with the fitted jets. Two spare sets of main jets are provided for WOT test conformation of the best main jet combination. Tuning instructions are supplied with our tune check video at the top of the main menu for gaining an easy understanding of the tuning process to get the best performance from your carbs. Climate, altitude and fuel density from different octane fuels all have varying effects on final fine tuning as does cam, exhaust and cylinder head porting etc. Please do contact us if you believe further fine tuning is required and we can guide you through the process. Once tuned a Mikuni carb will not go out of tune for many years.
The width of the VM Mikuni carbs is wider than the available spacing between the inlet spigots on a T140E cylinder head requiring the use of our 13mm offset mounting boots to spread the carbs for proper alignment and fit. Because of the offset the opening requires re-packing with high density foam for proper sealing (not supplied). The opening itself will also require some enlarging outward to compensate for the offset.
The Mikuni VM carb which give you that more period look, incorporates many upgraded features not found in the stock Amal carburetor with the most notable being a heavy duty hard chrome plated bronze slide for decades of consistent service. All this means going faster has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, irregular idle, hesitations, flat spots and most of all short carburetor life. This kit using the VM doesn’t require the alloy sleeves pictured where this combined with the individual carb price difference makes the VM option considerably cheaper.
You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque. In a number of instances Dyno tests have shown improvements of up to and over 25% when fitted to OEM carburetored engines.
Please advise in your notes to seller if your bike does not still have the OEM T140E switch block with the 6mm threaded male fitting on the top cable end, and if not which one of the other two is yours shown in the pictures.
IF NOT WANTING TO PURCHASE THE KIT IN ITS ADVERTISED FORM PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS BELOW.
