You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque.  In a number of instances Dyno tests have shown improvements of up to and over 25%  when fitted to OEM carburetored engines. The TM36-68 with the sleeve fitted matches the outside diameter at the air-box end. It also duplicates your OEM carbs front to back length. The engine end outlet spigot on the TM36 is 42mm where the Honda XR400 engine flange socket is a couple of mm larger than the 42mm. As it runs a risk of future failure to properly make a reliable sleeve 1mm thick with a then correct depth locator groove in it, as rubber doesn’t compress it displaces thus relying on adequate depth locator ring grooves. We prefer you (as literally thousands of customers before you) to just simply crank the rubber flange down onto the carb. When doing this always check that you have enough adjustment in the clamp to tension adequately.
