The Mikuni TM38 Non-Pump type TM Flatslide carburetor is an excellent upgrade for your Yamaha SR, TT, or XT 500, offering enhanced performance compared to the VM Roundslide Mikuni alternatives, particularly when the expense of a TM Pumper carb is not justifiable. For many years, this carburetor has been the preferred economical replacement for Honda XR600 and XR650 riders who have either worn out their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) carburetors or are seeking to resolve some of the common issues associated with them. This advancement ensures that maximizing your motorcycle's enjoyment is more accessible than ever, eliminating challenges such as difficult starting, hesitations, and flat spots.

It is important to note that these Mikuni carburetors, similar to the VM models, do not fit the stock air-box, necessitating the separate purchase of either a paper or foam POD air filter. The kit includes a new rubber engine mounting flange designed to position the carburetor closer to the cylinder head, along with a 1/4 turn quick action throttle and a nylon-lined cable featuring a 90-degree lower fitting to accommodate tight clearances on certain models. Additionally, the kit provides jets that need to be changed, along with spare jets for fine-tuning purposes.
