Description
TM35-1 35mm TMX Mikuni Carburetor| Kawasaki | Yamaha | Suzuki | Honda | 2 Stroke Engines
The Mikuni TM35-1 35mm TMX Flatslide Carburetor is a high-performance option designed for 2-stroke engines, particularly 125cc high-performance motocross applications on brands like Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda.
This genuine factory racing version of the TMX carburetor is widely regarded as one of the best-performing variants ever produced, free from the modifications and restrictions found in many OEM pollution-compliant carbs.
Key Features
Flat slide design in a smooth-bore venturi for sharper throttle response and a broader powerband.
Independent twin-float system paired with a main jet inside a baffled chamber ensures smooth, hesitation-free operation—even on rough terrain.
Eliminates common issues like hesitation, hard starting, and other performance drawbacks associated with some stock carbs.
Factory Jetting (Installed)

Total Width: 76mm
Tuning Recommendations
The supplied jetting works well on most 125cc motocross engines. Minor adjustments are often all that's needed:
Main Jet: Test with spares—one size richer (360) and one leaner (340)—to confirm optimal wide-open throttle (WOT) mixture and maximum power.
Pilot Jet: Most bikes run fine with the stock 20; some (especially Huskys) may prefer a slightly leaner 25, or occasionally one/two sizes leaner after checking idle/transition.
Jet Needle: Rarely needs swapping except in some multi-cylinder setups. The 6EN11-53 provides a good baseline.
E-Clip Position on the Jet Needle
The clip adjusts the air/fuel ratio primarily from ¼ to ¾ throttle:
Lower the clip (raises the needle) → richer mixture.
Raise the clip (lowers the needle) → leaner mixture.
Changing the Jet Needle
For fine-tuning the ⅛ to ¼ throttle range, swap needles if needed. The stamped number (e.g., 53 in 6EN11-53) indicates the needle's straight-section OD in hundredths of a mm (2.53mm here).
Smaller OD number → richer mixture.
Larger OD number → leaner mixture.
Installation Notes
If your current carb measures ~12mm or 20mm longer than the TMX's 76mm depth, and you're keeping the stock airbox, add a silver anodized extender (available separately on the TMX page). The extender's airbox end is 60mm OD (slightly undersized). Note in order comments if you'd like it press-fitted with Loctite before shipping.
Throttle cable setup: The provided photo shows minimum inner cable protrusion and fitting at the carb end (backboard marked in 1mm/10mm increments). If your cable is too short, consider a quick-action throttle/cable kit.
For carbs replacing units with throttle position sensors (TPS) or other electronics, confirm whether those need to remain connected.
Please include in your order notes:
