Description

This genuine Mikuni TM42-6 40mm Flatslide Pumper Carburetor kit is for use on Kawasaki KLX 650 models as pictured.

Going fast has never been so easy, say goodbye to hard starting, hesitations and flatspots with the thrill of getting the maximum bolt on power available from a carburetor kit.

There are two different KLX650 frames. The electric start KLXC as per the pictures has no overhead cross bar behind the motor, where if you have the cross bar under the tank it has to be modified or relocated. The tank also needs to be depressed around 5mm to make room for over head able bracket clearance. This is easiest done using a ball pin hammer where the picture shows the extent of alteration needed. As again shown in the pictures, you may choose to grind a couple few mm off the top of the cable bracket to minimize the extent of tank denting.

The Mikuni TM42 carburetor at 46mm OD is a good size match for the motor flange connection where the locator lugs need to be cut off your rubber flange to allow for full penetration. An anodized 58mm silver step down sleeve is fitted to best duplicate your carbs 100mm length and match your 58-60mm air-box side spigot diameter. The kit also comes with throttle cables and a 1/4 turn quick action throttle.  There’s a 260mm long cable choke and universal mounting bracket. Jets are fitted to suit your engine with spare up and down size mains for WOT testing for best for application determination. The available adjustment of the pilot and needle circuits should achieve perfect tune where its unlikely to ever need to purchase additional jets. We do have an after sales phone or email tuning support service if ever needed. Air box modification may be required where when doing the WOT test runs you find an improvement when removing the access cover. Extra air inlet holes would then need to be drilled or cut out to match up cover on/off performance.

You will instantly experience better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque with front wheel lift in higher gears never experienced before.
