Description

Going fast has never been so easy. The number one performance carburetor slips onto your Harley using the original throttle cables. Mikuni’s Sportster/Buell Easy Kits use your bike’s existing manifold, choke cable and air filter. Keep your Harley’s stock factory look and fit, with better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased power and torque. Mikuni’s smoothbore, flatslide with roller bearings, and accelerator pump technology delivers peak performance from idle to Wide Open Throttle.

The Mikuni HSR 42-11 Easy Kit suits 1994 to present Harley Davidson Sportster and Buell Models. For the maximum available increase in all round performance and power available, this kit will instantly impress. The adapter provided is for mounting any 1989 and later CV or S&S carburetor type air-cleaner.

This carburetor fouls on the fuel petcock on pre-1994 model Harley Davidson Evolution Sportsters requiring the bike to be using a fuel tank with a left hand side tap. Pre-88 models would also require a HS42/018-42 rubber mounting flange for fitment to the stock two bolt manifold along with upgrading to a Mikuni K&N air-cleaner or using the adapter provided to fit either a 1989 and later CV or S&S type air-cleaner. A Mikuni choke cable and Harley Davidson OEM ’89 thru ’95 throttle cables will also need to be fitted along with some custom mounting bracket fabrication.

This carb has different jets and throttle cable bracket fitted to those used on the Bigtwin models.

For the fitment of some versions of the S&S Shorty air-cleaner to a Mikuni HSR carburetor, the breather on the backing plate may need to have some material removed with some others requiring material to be ground off the outer edge of the S&S backing plate to allow for clearance giving total unimpeded movement of the return arm on the carburetor.

We tried 3 different types of carbs before we broke down and spent the extra to get the Mikuni. Thanks for helping us out at SpeedMotoCo
